Where's the 5500 Electronic Filing?
5500 Electronic Filing was added for 2003 Plan Years in Pension Reporter version 1.17. TPA firms that wish to file electronically must complete the EFAST 1 form, available at http://www.efast.dol.gov to receive their EFIN, PINs and encryption codes. The Plan Sponsor and Plan Administrator for each of your plans must also submit an EFAST 1 form to receive their PIN numbers. There is no need for others who normally sign the return (Actuary, Trustee, etc.) to get electronic signatures. Note: This is different than the transmitter codes you may currently use for 1099R electronic filing.
